Junk.......Do not buy it!
3 of 4 found this helpful This belt is the wrong size....it actually states that in the description, but it also states it is an OEM belt, and therefore we tend to be fooled!
The belt is at most 47.5 inches.....the wrong size. The OEM belt is supposed to be a 48 inches.
Why does it matter?.....well the MTD variable speed drive is very fussy....a 47.5 inch belt will cause the braking mechanism to fail....making using this belt very dangerous! You can't disengage the forward motion, MTD calls it creep. When the brake is applied the transmission is still engaged, because the belt is still taut, that results in a burning rubber belt and continued forward motion fighting against the brakes.
Do not buy this belt......it is useless, the wrong size and your brake will not work because there will be too much tension on the belt!
Buy a 48" belt, the kevlar one worked for me, but there are probably many alternatives, including the reputable one from Home Depot and Lowes!
Do not buy this junk.....it is dangerous and will never work unless you have someway to stretch it another 1/2 inch plus!
