2 Xeon Quad Core X5355 + 24GB Ram + Dell Poweredge 2900 Motherboard TM757

A Nothing Fancy, Totally Reliable Motherboard

Why did I spend money on a totally archaic motherboard?? Simple Brothers... Used Dell Poweredge 2900 servers are cheap, robust, and easy to upgrade with the low cost discs now available (at Microcenter). Also parts and the tech manuals are still available. Mine was a gen I with two dual core Xeons, and eight gig of memory. For seventy bucks it is now a gen III with two fast quads and 32 meg of memory. Use ESD precautions when you change it. My killowatt meter shows a cost of sixteen dollars a month to operate. AND I get space heating for the cellar as part of the package. Did I mention the two 1gig ethernet ports and the TOE built in to offload the IP load. You can go smaller footprint, but it won't be as easy to live with. Good servers are herd from but not seen!! No more forgetting to backup also. WHS 2011 runs beautifully. Four laptops, three desktops, and two servers on the network. Neat project and good pfun.....

A quality tool, don't miss it !!

In an era of plastic this is a welcome change, a quality build, and thoughtful design. It is a great tool for leveling and zeroing a scope as it keeps the rifle steady so that you don't have to re level it after each adjustment. This is NOT a shooting rest. I give it five stars. And I ordered a second one for my son!!
