reality did not live up to fantasy.
I put off buying this kit for a while because of the cost, I now regret getting it, not so much for the workmanship as the parts do appear to be well formed, but for the instructions, which leave MUCH to be desired, there are multiple sections that do not leave a clear indication of how to assemble, shape or layer a section and I had to undo an assembly on many occasions because I found out in the next section a clue to the previous section, is proving to be a very frustrating project, and I couldn't even reference the manufacturers website as the train shown there is different than the one I am building, I can only hope that it will function properly and still look good once done, if not I would be really upset.

if you like puzzels, models or just building something, you'll love it
2 of 2 found this helpful first a clarification, "is it durable", it's a wood model kit, it won't take your 10 yr old playing in the back yard with it, but the parts are well enough made to enable it to run.
I found one of Ugears's kits at work, a locomotive and absolutely LOVED it, this one too, the detail, the moving parts, all make it a kit unlike any model I've ever built in the past and I will be getting more of them in the future, and it looks VERY nice on a mantel or a book shelf for display, I think anyone who likes models, puzzles and making things that move will defiantly LOVE this and many of the other similar kits.
