HP-Agilent-Keysight 16442A Test Fixture

Purpose built test fixture with connector advantages.

The 16442A is a great DC component test fixture that uses the same modules as the older 16058A. The 16442A is purpose built, whereas the 16058A is from the HP Japan parts bin. This has a couple important implications. The 16442A can accept the modern HP Quadrex connectors of the 014155 series. This is great fro connecting to 4156 analyzers or home brew connector blocks. Now that these cables are available on eBay... unlimited possibilities! The 16058A is designed for individual triax cable connection, but since it has a more generic origins, the entire inside connector plate can be removed with two thumb screws and modified in many ways to suite tests or experimental set ups. I use the 16058a for many purposes other than with a SMU. I use one as light-shielded proto-board and another to test parts that may fail dramatically (I put a latch on the cover and modified it so bad things would go down and back rather than up into my face..
