Geat Bit of Kit - with some niggling reservations.
Generally I would rate this as a great bit of kit. I can confirm it handles flac files of up-to and including 24bit 192K, it might handle higher but this is what I know to work OK. It also handles a number of other file types but I've not really tried others. Sound quality is definitely great given the price of this box. I'm running the KS Link by fronting it with JRiver software which sees it as a DNLA renderer
So my grumbles are:
(1) Setup seems a bit hit and miss and even though I go thro the exact procedure it always seems to take a number of tries before it finally comes together and works . Once setup and working no problems. Regarding initial setup I did find it easier to consult youtube,. The manual is...well pretty poor at best.
(2) My biggest grumble. If ever the unit is powered off (power cut or otherwise) then when it comes back on, it sits there with the red light on and needs a further button press to re-establish the wifi connection. It would seem to be better to auto connect the wifi just like my phone or laptop does. I would have given it 5stars if it wasn't for this one point. Maybe the techies could correct this with a firmware upgrade?
