Powerful little chip

One of the best directX 9 cards out there, by far
6 of 6 found this helpful Ok having owned one of these i can say they are excellent cards, not only do they blow away almost every other direct x 9 card out there, running every direct x 9 game at mostly full settings theyve been known to out perform even the 8600gts on direct x 9 games at higher resolutions.
In response to the previous reviewers comments, yes it can get noisy if its pushed hard but thats why it has a self varying fan speed; its only noisy when it really needs to be. similar to AMDs cool and quiet feature.
And ofcourse the 8800 will be better, they cost 80 - 100 pounds more for a start, plus theyre one family higher. (you might aswell say youd be better getting a 7600gt over a 6600gt). not to mention the direct x 10 capability for when you eventually upgrade to Windows Vista, but if anyone is hanging onto Windows XP for a while, id wait until you get Vista before buying a directX 10 card as there will be better ones at more affordable prices by then...
...and for anyone that isn't planning on a vista upgrade any time too soon this card will serve you well. and even then its vista capable (under directX 9L) so you wont have to worry about needing another card immediately.

Great phone 3 years on
Great phone at a great price. Still runs everything like a dream 3 years on and has a rare Snapdragon processor (not exynos) in all UK S20FE models.
