Phar Lap, by Geoff Armstrong

Reason I bought this book is that as the author of 'The Agua Caliente Story', I wish I had this book BEFORE I began the writing process! Phar Lap has always been a great story to me, the fact that perhaps one the worlds greatest racehorses ran in a track in Tijuana Mexico. I cover what I could gather on Phar Lap and his race, the Agua Caliente Handicap, which at one time was the worlds richest race, but to have a bio on Phar Lap alone was a special treat for me. I'm glad I was able to find it.Phar Lap's legend will never die.

HOT TUBES EL34!!!!

I needed a replacement set for my amp, a Randall LB50C. So when I came across this set I had to have them. Once in my amp it was harmonic heaven!

STOP CHASING!!!!

Yes. This does what it says it'll do and YES...it sounds just like that legendary album from 1978. I plugged this into a Randall LB50 combo (clean channel) and it pumped out tons of 'brown' sound. Now this only seems to work on an amps clean channel as I tried it on a Marshall 1987 (modified by David Bray) and it was not as responsive as it was on the Randall. Playing with it is only part of the fun and dialing 'into' that sound is easy. I would recommend this to anyone wishing to have that tone. Adding a phaser only enhances the experience.
