Nice Smart Watch-lite device.
Great hybrid between a Fitness Band and a proper Smart Watch. It takes some of the best of both worlds (great battery life, very clear and sizeable screen, applets that let you control things like music and check messages.

Good in theory, but with some odd design flaws
2 of 2 found this helpful Lets get the problems out first: One glaring design flaw (which in my mind borders on false advertising) regards it's use of coax input/output. While the output can carry audio/video from another source (ie a pass-through), it can NOT carry the device's own video--ONLY audio (this was conferred to me via an LG tech). Anyone seeing coax in/out would assume it could carry the device's own audio/video.
Also, when "power-saving" mode is selected, when you turn off the device, the front clock turns off as well (the machine has no lights at all). Maybe nice for some, but in a bedroom its nice to be able to use this as a clock.
Next, the remote can control TVs, but only a very, very small selection (LG/Goldstar, Zenith, Samsung, Sony, Hitachi). Luckily, some other brands can be controlled as well, but its a crapshoot as to what.
Another annoying problem is that if a DVD is placed in the tray, even when it is stopped (and after a several hours, just to test) the DVD is STILL spinning. Obviously, this not only uses juice, but also puts wear and tear on the recorder as well as the disc. My old DVD player actually stopped spinning the disc after you hit stop, and when you paused it for a long period of time. This device should do the same.
I read in another review about the lack of buttons on the front of the device. This is true, as there is only play/pause, stop, record, channel up/down, dubbing, DVD/VCR and Res. However, the plenitude of available universal remotes means you'll not have any problems if the original remote stops functioning/goes missing (and everyone should have a universal remote, and I can specifically recommend the Logitech Harmony series). Also, the door on the front that hides the buttons can be difficult to open, as it sits flush with the front/sides, with only a small 1/4" slot on the right to use as a point of leverage using your fingernail. I affixed a small strip of plastic through this slot that sticks out about 1/2", making a tab thats easy to grab.
Another small problem is the tuner. While its only a problem for a few more weeks as of now, with the digital conversion, its still another oddity/design flaw. Using the channel up/down buttons, you first cycle through all of the analog stations, then through the digital. Just seems like it would have been better to go through the stations numerically, both analog and digital together (ie here they broadcast 2 in analog and digital, so instead of 2, 2-0, 2-1, 2-2, all the way up to 100, you first go 2, 3, etc all the way to 100, THEN 2-1, 2-2, etc)
So, with all these problems, does it make it a bad product? No, not at all. These problems are only minor blemishes on an otherwise outstanding product. The ability to dub to/from DVD/VCR is a nice bonus (usually only from VHS to DVD). The best recording ability of the DVD records OTA HD in amazing quality.
The VHS deck has auto tuning, quickly rewinds/fast forwards, and does everything a good stand-alone VHS deck would. Likewise, the DVD side is equally equipped, able to record to ANY DVD format (and I've never had a problem playing back DVDs--just remember to FINALIZE the recording). It even has a USB port to playback photos (only certain JPEGs) and videos (only certain AVI codecs) and MP3s--not great, but better than nothing.
All in all, for the price I paid (+/- $100 after Live Cashback), it is an excellent device and I am thinking of buying another soon. Just be aware of the above flaws.
