The best GP-40 on the market
Atlas has the best running GP-40 and GP-40-2 on the market. The 'red box' units easily accept an NCE decoder and they run as quiet as a feather hitting the ground. The Master series have a dual mode decoder in them and with the removal of the dynamic brake blister and moving the jumper board over one notch, the unit will run on DCC. Note: once upon a time, the 'yellow box' units commanded top dollar ($80-$100) but now are worth $10-$20 at best as technology has improved and so has the detail and mechanical drives of the newer Atlas units.

An acceptable stand-in
This car is an acceptable stand-in until another manufacturer produces a correct model.

Not airtight but not completely useless
1 of 1 found this helpful The seal in the lid does not fit the lid properly so if you need to keep air from entering the jar, then don't buy this jar. But since I bought it to be a coin jar, I do not need it to be air tight. Buyer beware.
