Pro tool for pro results
14 of 14 found this helpful For photography, I shoot studio work, events and boxing. I bought this camera manly for my ringside work but it has been amazing for events as well. Understand this is a pro tool so accesories like batteries and XQD cards (love them over CF cards) are going to come at a premium.
I bought this camera because my D3 was in the shop to work as my primary sports shooter. And I love it. The colors are fantasic and the focus is quick. Be careful, you can rattle off 10 frames without even thinking about it. Granted, your buffer is generous unlike my D3. You'll still want to shoot in bursts to control the shots you get.
It's a heavy beast but this is what you expect from this type of body. Expect a workout. Expect a robust shooting experience. That's something i enjoy from my cameras. If you want a powerhouse, don't hesitate to get one of these.

Secure and sturdy
When I bought my first camera, a Nikon D80, it came with a camera bag that had the zipper flap that face my back instead of outwards. I thought was great. After adding more equipment, that bag was tool small but I kept it anyway. The new bag I had wasn't built as sturdy and soon the zipper failed and caused my 70-200 to fall out of my bag, to the tune of $375 to fix. What does this have to do with this bag, the Lowepro Flipside 400 AW? Well, turns out that small sturdy bag was a LowePro Flipside 100. The bag was made so well, and outlived the other bag, I decided to buy this bag. Well, I have more equipment now, than I did with the other bag and I feel twice as secure. I mean, I've packed this thing heavy and it stays secure on my back. I don't have to worry about the zipper failing and spilling all of my precious gear. Also, the rain cover is a great feature, too! In short, I say get this bag. Don't even think about it. It's worth it. I carry my Nikon D7100, Nikon D3, 70-200mm f2.8 and an assortment of prints and flashes with more than enough space. Anything bigger, you might as well get a rollie, or workout. lol
