Awesome sound quality.. Terrible mic input!!
4 of 5 found this helpful I have been playing a lot of battle field 1 on ps4 and the level of immersion that this mix amp provides is amazing. You have no idea how many times the sound of foots steps along with the direction in which they are coming from has saved my life on the battle field and i have only been using a set of Bose earbuds for now so i can imagine how nice it's gonna sound when I get my hyper x clouds. There is actually a newer version of this mix amp known as the mix amp pro TR that has customizable EQ presets and such but after all the research i did between the two i came to the understanding that this mix amp pro known as the gen 2 has a better sound quality, but the only thing that keeps this from being a 5 star product is the mic input. Apparently this particular model of the mix amp suffers from an internal design error that makes your headset mic sound like a chainsaw massacre. However, this issue has been fixed on the newer version so keep that in mind. If you prefer using your headset to talk to your friends then stay far away from this mix amp. I personally use a usb mic on my ps4 to communicate so it's not an issue for me and i had full knowledge of this issue before purchasing. There are many video reviews on YouTube especially from sponsored users who never once made an attempt to disclose this issue. All in all if you want an Astro mix amp and can't afford the price of the new TR version then this Mix amp is great, just know that using your headset mic is not an option otherwise it's great at what it does and would be an excellent addition to any gaming set up.
**UPDATE**
Since using my mix amp pro i have been noticing some static when turning the main volume knob which seems to be getting worst over time. For now the static seems to occur only when you turn the knob but hearing this doesn't give me the best feeling.
