Beautiful! Not just a 3-D toss away!
This book uses color gel lenses arranged on a card to let the reader view double-paged scenes and discover different aspects of the artists drawings. Through green, red, and blue lenses you see animals on the move in the morning, daytime, and night. The art is well rendered and on following support pages some details of the animals' habits are given.
The nature of the revelation through different colors opens the readers' eyes to what light wavelengths do to our perception of our surroundings. Being wrapped in the art within the book makes it a joy for any budding artist as they discover what color choices and blending can do to their compositions, no matter how simple or complex.
I recommend "Illuminature" for all ages.
Con: I would love to see this with "glasses" rather than single lenses. That would require tracking 3 individual pairs, not easy with the younger audience.
