Power supply caution!!
12 of 15 found this helpful Overall fair value for the price but spoiled by scanty operating instructions. There is a caution to connect to correct power supply, however many people are used to devices selecting input power automatically (eg shavers). I live in a country with 220 V AC supply and looked to see if there was a power select switch - I didn't find one but should have looked further .......... there was no mention of this switch in the printed instructions but inside the battery compartment there is a slide switch to select between 110 and 220 V, this was set to 110 V as default. Having not seen this I connected to the mains and switched on - BANG, I promptly burnt out the power transformer!! OK, my fault, perhaps I should have looked more diligently for a power selection switch (fortunately I had a spare plug-in transformer which was compatible with the DC input socket and so was able to use the radio. This would not have happened if the instructions had included a specific reference to the presence and site of the power selector switch.
