OPTOMA HD70 is great!
I am a huge fan of this projector, and usually if you bargain hunt you can get it for somewhere around $600 (which is way less money than a smaller-screen HDTV). For months I had been researching HD projectors, and it seemed that if you're getting into home theater projection, the Optoma HD70 is the way to go... affordable, great picture, etc. I kept trying to find the right price when I saw one online for a little less than $600, so I jumped on it. I am so glad I did because it really is a great little projector. It's small enough to be portable or to mount to a pretty low ceiling (without having to worry about it falling and killing someone), but it has great contrast and is plenty bright, even with a light or two on. My girlfriend and I had been HDTV shopping, but we hate how sharp everything is. Everything is aliased and people look fake. Plus, everything is shot digitally now (don't get me started on that), so if you have the same problem with HDTVs, I HIGHLY SUGGEST the Optoma HD70. P.S. - it's awesome to use with the Wii and especially WiiFit! Happy shopping!
