A Charming, Hilarious Slice of Life. It's a joy to read and learn from
1 of 1 found this helpful Yotsubato! follows the life of titular character Yotsuba, as she explores the world with a child's wonder. Each volume contains 7 chapters of Yotsuba's adventures, where she discovers something new, explores her world, or has fun with her new friends. Yotsuba is a delightfully strange, curious and mischievous young girl adopted by To-chan from 'some place to the left', who moves into her new home in Japan, and meets a colourful cast of characters. Every chapter is hilarious, very charming, heartfelt and the characters are very easy to love.
I am an intermediate Japanese speaker and reader, and can highly recommend this manga as a study guide. It features full Furigana (every Kanji has accompanying Hiragana so that you know how the Kanji is pronounced), and as it is a manga, it's very easy to fill in the blanks of what's going on from the pictures. It is the most fun I have ever had 'studying'!
