What a Ripper
1 of 1 found this helpful My first thought was that it was a bit weighty, but then again for the engine capacity and driveshaft cluch size, it would not be able to have been any lighter and still remain of good build quality for the price.
So far I have only used the chainsaw attachment and it does a good job, especially getting to branches that might normally require access to a ladder. I had a large dead gravellia in the front garden that had died about a year ago and the wood had dried to being quite hard, the chainsaw ripped though it like butter and it certainly made short work of removing it safely without breaking any windows etc. I didnt need to use much throttle in cutting through it and the engine certainly has enough power to get the job done.
I was uncertain about the engine build prior to buying, but am quite satisfied with the quality having purchased and used. I am now looking to purchase other goods as well such as a larger chainsaw for our property maintenance seeing we are looking to purchase large acreage. I can certainly use all the help that I can get.
So the next question, would I recommend this item, I certainly would and I may even purchase a couple more for those times that I employ someone to assist with property cleanup and maintenance. I would even recommend this to my own brothers.
Now for The Bad. Well those were the items thrown in as a bonus. The Tools are poor quality, though they may last a short while until you use them too much and the earmuffs I suppose are better than nothing, but I would recommend purchasing a good quality set. The leg chaps are vinyl and they would be very hot and sweaty, I would recommend either purchasing a set of leather one or heavy drill, or at worse a cheap pair of jeans. The glove are poor quality, but they might be ok for a short while, but get a good pair of leather gloves. The safety glasses are elcheapo, so get a good pair, you only have one set of eyes and get a face shield to wear as well. The Harness is confusing to put on and seems to be awkward, the release clip is also awkward to remove for when you need to lift the unit up to head height and takes a few attempts to remove instead of being easily removed and to continue working, you need to stop the engine and then remove the harness and then restart the engine, this is time inefficient. The fuel mixing bottle is only 600ml so it you need to do two mixes to fill the tank, I would recommend that you would want to get either a 5lt or a 10lt mixing bottle (depending how much work you do with it at a time).
I would also recommend using a good quality 2stroke oil, one that is not smokey as this will make things easier to cleanup at the end of each day for a daily maintenance routine.
Hope this is helpful to anyone who may be considering this unit.

Simple and Efficient
1 of 1 found this helpful I used this temp controller switch to control an exhaust fan in a refridgeration chamber in my camper trailer to extend battery life for the fridge for when the chamber is sufficently cool enough to turn off the exhaust fan, especially at night when it doesnt need to be running that much, except for when the chamber reaches a temperature that would make the refridgerator less efficient.
For the very low cost of this device, I dont know why the trailer manufacturer did not put one of these in from their factory.
The only thing I think they can improve on is supplying a mounting box or plate for easier mounting to a wall. In my case I needed it to be easily accessible and to be able to change the settings If I need too. The box I ended up using was a small storage box that had a dust seal in it to reduce any dust building up on the electronics.
It was also set at 30°C from factory and this was the ideal temp setting for the purpose I had wanted to use it for.

Redarc Tow Pro Elite - Just the Best, dont bother with the rest
Almost Set and Forget. Dont bother with the old type of Trailer Brake Controllers, these are state of the art system that once its been calibrated it will work everytime without the worry. I purchase the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite to fit into our 100series Cruiser so that my wife when she needs to tow a trailer (which is rare) will be able to easily drive on any road surface without getting into trouble and its not Rocket Science to adjust or to calibrate.
The Control unit will remember its calibration unless the vehicle battery is replaced or disconnected, and then its as simple of Stop Go 20 times to calibrate the system and you dont require a trailer attached at the time, but it is helpful to do so, more for your piece of mind than anything else.
The Controller head itself is small enough to mount almost anywhere under the dash (Redarc make an Ashtray Mount its the best spot) and then a small Adjustment Dial is mounted where its easily found without knocking it everytime you access the vehicle and at a fingers touch. It our 100 series cruiser, we mounted it in the swithc blank beside the mirror adjustment controller.
Do bother with anything else, this is the best available at present and its even highly sought after Overseas its that good.
