Replacement carb
arrived within advertised time and with all parts expected. No insturctions so you need to know what to do. worked right away, minor needle adjustments(expected).
Feels like a solid product, at a good price. I've run the trimmer, 4-5 times since installation, no issues. No needle adjustments while using (lol, biggest issue with old carb).
LIked the carb came with plug, fuel line/filter with tank gasket(old one leaked),and gaskets.

interesting story.
It got to the point i could not keep my stih bushwacker trimmer running. I figured it was the gaskets in the carburetor. They seem to act up every 4-5 years. so I ordered this one like i did before. (surpised the price was half what it was last time). Installed new carb, fuel line/filter and plug. was having the exact same problem. kept trying and trying. Then noticed some movement of the head. Removed plastic housing. Of the 4 screws holding the head to the body, 1 was missing and other 3 were loose.( Vibrations over 20 years). Thus no compression. Replaced screw, tighten all down. Started on 3rd pull, runs great. The vibrations damaged head gasket. Replaced, running like new.
I "may" not have needed this carb at this moment but it was close to time. This kit is well worth the price and an exact fit. I highly recommend. Sorry no pics, but there are plenty of utube videos for the Stihl fs 81.

Kit works
Good kit. All the gaskets parts needed for carb repair. As the kit covers mutiple units, its a good idea to repair one part at a time and match up the right gaskets. For size and whether it goes facing carb or exterior. It has a new fuel line, but would have liked to have a new gromet for the line into the take. Ive had trouble with it leaking in the past, but after 1 use, it seems to be ok.
Can't say if its a good value at this time. Have to see how well it lasts. But the price is good and quality feels good. Unit started after first pull. Had to adjust H and L needles.
Took unit to repair shop, they wanted $20 diagnostic fee plus cost of repair. He wanted to do a full "analysis". I explained the unit is to old (about 15 yrs) for any major over haul, I just wanted the carb gaskets replaced. He didn't agree. lol.
FYI: I recommend if you choose to pull the choke and throttle plates and theie rods out like I did, be very careful. Each has a spring w/check ball built into the carb. They are not visible until removal of the rods. I lost the check ball for the choke. My unit now has a manually created, manual hold wire.
