No ink

I ordered canon 30 and 31 replacement cartridge. The 30 came with a cover and tape to be pulled off. It seems to be OK. The 31 had a cover but NO tape to pull off. I installed both and got an error for my color (31) cartridge. Was unable to get the error code removed and had to throw away both cartridges. I think they know they have a problem because my shipment even had a note that said, even though an error shows up, there is ink in the cartridge. Problem is, I could not get the error code to go away or print pages. Stay away from this purchase
