Works in North America
Works with my Daikin 19/Aurora Series - FTX-NMVJU units but can only change mode, temperature and schedule, no fan speed, swing or other special modes (turbo/eco/confort), but I suspect the BRP072 have the same shortcomings looking at the US app's review.
The BRP069B43 comes with the S21 adapter to S403 connector KRP980A1, no need to purchase it separately.
The plastic/metal case doesn't fit in my smaller 12k BTU unit, if you look at the manual of the BRP072, there's room in the upper right of the main PCB where the 3 holes for the spacers line up to install it, I didn't like having the WIFI module with a cable dangling, if you take it off its case, you can tuck it underneat in the empty spot, just put some electrical tape to avoid it shorting againts the metal tab.
As for the region, it can be changed easily using http://IPADDR/common/set_regioncode?reg=JP to use each respective apps (they have newer firmware versions, may break out of home function however, YMMV)
But the most full featured one is the EU app anyway (v2.4), even have limited IFTTT support, the US one hasn't been updated since 2016 and is at v1....TH (v3.5) & JP (v6) are current but not many functions, AU doesn't even have scheduling.
