Genuine ABS Module Works Perfectly
1 of 1 found this helpful This sealed, NIB, OEM numbers matching genuine unit was installed and flashed without any problems in my 2009 Hyundai Accent. At about one-third to one-half the cost from Dealer-direct IF they have one. Otherwise, can be weeks out. These are generally hard to find already in the US and a Great Value. Just make sure the numbers match exactly to those on the bad one on the car.

Honest 10 Inch Sub With Serious Output, Not a Toy
1 of 1 found this helpful A very good, solid performer with enough power and depth to get the job done without any annoying sonic anomalies to my ears. Smooth and deep, not boomy. Gives you a switchable choice between Normal and LFE input(s) that eliminates guesswork with your setup but does not have inputs/outputs for external speakers. I use it in LFE mode with an AV receiver sub-out and have not tried the Line Inputs. Once I placed this sub correctly in my room I could not locate the source of low bass! I like the tall/deep tapered design (not just an ugly black box), bottom port, modern finish (no fake wood), good weight, the light on the top which is not too bright, and the massive amount of low bass it can generate (to its design limits) at 1/2 volume setting (108-110db at 1Meter). I have found that 1/3 max volume blends best with my mains and when LFE kicks in with movies, the sub delivers the goods sometimes with surprisingly massive amounts of low level energy that shakes my couch as a proper sub should. Has a phase switch, crossover and volume knob. I do not like that it has no auto-standby so the amp idles pretty warm when not in use. I just turn it off after listening which is a pain, but I do it with all my amps anyway as a matter of habit. Finally, GREAT VALUE at $169 free SH on E-Bay. This may be discontinued already from JBL but the best bang-for-my-audio buck I have had the pleasure to spend!

Best Bang for the Buck All-Time
I am currently running these with an all tube Conrad Johnson 70WPC front end, Rega Saturn CD player, Nordorst all silver flatline cables/interconnects and let me tell you the sound is night and day 3D stereo compared to using them with a lower end Sony DH750 AV receiver/16 gauge Monster wire in my Home Theater (which I also used them as mains and now use for surrounds). They play very clean and are dynamic on a good system - not laid back- and will disappear when set up right. Vocals sound natural if a bit forward; string plucks, percussion, recording effects all flow effortlessly, sometimes with surprising whack to them. Enjoyable to listen to without a sub which is a huge plus. Built solid and look good along the way. Be warned, I have damaged several pairs in the past when apparently pushed beyond their electrical limits for too long with inexpensive solid state amps (woofer(s) will then permanently buzz at the highest volumes). But outstanding! warranty support from Energy if needed and always replaced since all amps were within the max power rating of the speakers. Though rated for more, the safe power limit seems to be about 70WPC continuous unclipped. As long as respected, and along with the CB-20's, these are my all-time favorite speaker for the price 45 years into audio. Enjoy if you can still find them.
