buying used goods
I needed to replace my Lexmark X1185 printer...the black ink cartridge was not reaching the paper, and the color side was not printing as well. I had just bought new cartridges and figured it might be better to swap out the same model of printer instead of buying a new one and get a couple of more years use from my whole set-up.
I figured wrong.
The item was advertised as a fully-working printer/scanner/copy machine. But it wasn't. The paper feed mechanism was not working. Without paper that pretty much killed the purpose of buying it.
The machine I had wasn't more than 2 years old and only used moderately. The machine I order couldn't have been much older. I have my doubts about Lexmark products. They don't seen to hold up well, and the company doesn't like to support their older products.
I won't be buying any used electronics on Ebay again.
