Star 1/72 French Indo-Chine decals
The decals are well produced and researched, covering a breadth of interesting subjects. My only minor criticism is that the registration and clarity of a few of the vehicle "matricule" no.'s is not great-not a problem I've encountered with other Star decal sets I've previously purchased.

A very nice kit of the Panzer II ausf F to modern standards
The Panzer II has always been a personal favourite of mine-in fact the venerable Tamiya 1/35 Panzer II ausf F kit was one of the first 1/35 kits I ever built. Unfortunately, this kit, while good for its time-early 1970's, no longer matches current standards and expectations. While other variants of the Panzer II have become available as much more up to date 1/35 kits, the ausf F, one of the most numerous and widely used of all Panzer II variants, until recently was only available as the aforementioned 1970's Tamiya kit or an expensive and not readily available Dragon kit. Academy releasing a kit of the Panzer II ausf F to modern standards at a very reasonable price addresses that gap. Not only that, but based on the box contents the Academy kit is an excellent model-detailed, accurate and well-engineered. It should be noted that unlike the old Tamiya kit, the tools, stowage boxes and similar are all provided as separate parts. As there was real-life variation in tool and stowage box arrangements between units and even individual tanks, the new Academy kit makes it much easier to represent a specific tank from reference sources than the old Tamiya kit (particularly as the latter had a particularly unrepresentative stowage arrangement that was found only on a handful of vehicles at best-and may even be purely an artifact of museum restoration). In connection with that point, while the kit has "North Africa" in the title and all the marking options provided are for vehicles that served in the North African Campaign, unlike some other German WWII Panzers, there was no specific "tropical" version of the Panzer II-so with an appropriate colour scheme and aftermarket decals, the kit could very readily be used to represent a Panzer II ausf F serving on other fronts.

Nice Trumpeter 1/72 T-10M Soviet Heavy Tank
Being a child of the 1960's and 70's and a keen small-scale military modeler, I rather like Cold War subjects and always found heavy tanks of that era impressive. Hence, when Trumpeter announced a 1/72 kit of the iconic Soviet T-10M heavy tank I was looking forward to getting one. Having done so, I'm generally pretty impressed - the kit is well molded and engineered, combining a good level of detail with straightforward parts breakdown and construction. I haven't actually built it and had a chance to compare the model to published dimensions/plans to categorically confirm the dimensional accuracy but the individual parts look correct in proportion and shape - so I'd hope the overall model is acceptably accurate. The only criticism I'd make on the model's accuracy specifically concerns the collar where the gun barrel joins the muzzle-brake, which just doesn't "look right", matching neither published plans or photo's of the real thing. That said, the issue isn't anything that couldn't be addressed by someone with reasonable modelling skills - just a pity in these days of such readily available information that Trumpeter couldn't get it right from the outset!
