B-36 PEACEMAKER MONOGRAM
4 of 4 found this helpful If you want a James Stewart replica of his B-36 you got one. Slight modification of decals 5736 1/48 decals numbers smaller UNITED STATES AIR FORCE. Some sanding is required for seams. Remember start 100 sandpaper and go thru 180, 240, 400, 800,1200, 2400, finish off 3600. This will iliminate scratches when spraying Silver over all. Nose wheel and main landing gear doors are Gloss White. I striped (red stripes) with using 3/32 stripes and decale set. (LIQUID). Since overall size of this plane it becomes a hanging model or do what I did built a base, simulated tarmac, and cover with homemade plexy glass . It's a large display but everyone wants to take it home. I placed a pilot (James Stuart) and crew chief (Henry Morgan) walking towards the aircraft. On U-Tube you get all the details in a clip from Strategic Air Command Movie.

3 of 3 found this helpful One of the most request aircraft model in 1/32 scale. But it is overrated at the cost of the kit. Film for dials on the aircraft dash board, was not effective enough, so I replace them with a Verlin product. Front spoilers right and left wing do not operate in open fashion as they should. Gun Feed tank for the front gun, behind the gun and hardly shows the feed belt. No metal landing gear as they did on A-6A Intruder, their all plastic and acceptable to breakage. Plain and simple canopy, no mirrors for the pilot, no detail of the activation rod assy. Which raises and lower canopy. Detail on wheel well has to be modified, minimum detail for wheel bays. Good selection of ordinance for pylons. Decals could have included for ejection seats. Ejections seats are blank and simple. Good display of radar, but modification added would make it almost on the money. Fitting is fair, a lot of sanding required. And most of all: WASH YOUR MODEL THROUGH. The releasing agent was NOT EFFIECIENTLY RINSED OFF. Paint will distort!!!!!!!! No crew Ladder Supplied, and no Pilots. Overall nice kit for someone who like me like to detail a kit. Price wise overrated for the standards they supply..... Happy Modeling

A lot of small parts and there are easy too loose with tweezer grip. Detail is very accurate , makes a nice display of the Destroyer that I built at Bath Iron Works. I like the fact you can make the original Perry or the PSA Perry. Which lengthens the aft deck to support two helicopters instead of one on the original. Recommend Gold Metal Products for accurate detailing of this ship.
