Good stuff
I heard many recommendations to stay away from the 2393SE processors, so I opted for these instead and have to admit I'm impressed. Scored 546 in the multi-thread cinebench test with two of these, so they can still compete a little bit with the modern stuff. Single-threaded performance lags behind quite a bit and the old chipset in the xw9400 workstation literally cuts the performance of a GeForce GTX 970 in half. Good quad core for an old system. (But I like my 6-core ones better)

I had to. Once

I'm glad I picked this up, but I don't think the average user, even the average power user, really benefits from the 128GB ram this allows you to use in your xw8600 workstation. I'm glad I did it once, but any subsequent xw8600 I would build, which I won't, would not have the risers.

Cool temps and whisper quiet
1 of 1 found this helpful Honestly, I was afraid this would be louder than my other xw9400 system, which I have switched out to all Noctua fans. I was wrong. Just by sense alone it actually sounds about the exact same, the loudest thing in the system is the hard disk drive. And this thing keeps my temps only a couple degrees C above ambient air temperature. I would recommend this to anyone with a xw9400 workstation as probably the most effective way too cool both processors, economically, and quietly.
