Inventive Brad produces plaintive Beatles
Brad gives some of the Beatles tunes his jazz treatment and I love it. He takes their tunes (9 of their songs and two other non-Beatles songs - golden slumbers and Bowie's Life on Mars) and makes them into something greater. It is a very plaintive album and interesting from a jazz point of view. It extends their life creates another vista for them.

Robust, great adjustment, excellent size and price
It's robustly made, it has an excellent range of adjustment, the platen is a large size and the weight rating is really good. For the money it is really excellent value; can't fault it.
I have a 19inch tablet on which I display the written music but it weighs about 3 kilos so I had to have a stand that would take the weight and this one does.

Lucid account from the beginning right up to present day; brilliant piece of work
This is a very lucid account of the History of the United States in terms of it's constitutional origins, interactions with the people all over the world including of course itself (e.g. Native Americans, the Civil War), it's various conflicts, wars, Presidents and so on.
The book does not moralize or take a high moral position the author simply wants to tell the facts, and point out the motivations and stand points of the people involved. To have this kind of breadth of history from the beginning right up to Obama/Trump era was always going to be a tough book to write because it would be easy to get bogged down somewhere, but it never did. It kept you on track and not drenched in detail that you did not want; pitched exactly right. I learnt a lot from it, (some things I knew e.g. Cuba) but many things I didn't. The style is very readable and the author's position very clear.
