Make your own

This is a handy item that is greatly overpriced. When it arrived and I opened it I thought to myself how could I pay that much for this flimsy thing. After seeing it, It would have fairly easy to just buy a plain access door and then make your own rollers. It will make the egress and ingress much easier with the cord. I used to have to use two hands and pull a foot or tow of wire at a time. Now I can just start pulling and winding.

I had only completed my installation of the transfer switch this past week. Today at 3 p.m. there was a county wide electric outage due to severe storms. I pulled my new generator out of the garage and onto my back patio, Then I hooked my 50 amp cord into the generator and house receptacle. I had a portable propane tank that I hooked the l.p. hose to, turned the gasoline lever off, pumped the pressure valve 3 or 4 times and fired it up. I ran it for a few minutes to warm it up and then started switching my transfer switches. Everything is working great after 5 hours of operation. The slick part is that I have not gotten the hookup yet for my house propane tank so I am expecting to run my portable l.p. tank out of fuel. But I have 50 gallons of gasoline near by that I can start using when the propane runs out. The dual fuel is quite and advantage. Oh my wife had a load of clothes in the dryer and it operated it with no problem.
