Flyhawk 1/700 FH1122 HMS Aircraft carrier Hermes 1942

The best 1/700 model ever!

I just got my Flyhawk HMS Hermes yesterday. I never expected it to be such a spectacular kit! Especially given the price. The model comes with full hull and waterline options and a full hangar bay. Six Swordfish torpedo bombers are included. Aside from comprehensive decals, they have optional folded or deployed wings and etched brass biplane struts and rigging! The photoetched brass sheet is practically an aftermarket set, containing all railings, gun shields, etc. There is no need to track down extra detail sets for Hermes, it’s all in the box!

A New Shinden for a New Century

The Zoukei Mura SWS 1/48 is a far more advanced & detailed model than the original Hasegawa kit from the 1980s. This model has extensive interior detail, including a full engine and cannon bay with removable panels to show everything off. Being their first 1/48 kit, not enough attention was given to things like ejector pin marks in visible places like the main gear wells & cockpit edges. Still, fit is great & detail is beautiful! Definitely worth having. Even more so are Zoukei Mura's Ta-152H and especially their Ho-229 flying wing which is in the running for most detailed 1/48 kit of all time! My final advice is do what I did. Get all three! They are works of engineering & art in scale.

Superb Kit of the Production F-35A

Meng's new 1/48 scale F-35A model kit represents the latest actual production version of the Joint Strike Fighter. It is highly detailed, yet easy to build. Options include open refueling port and weapons bays. The bays include not only the commonly supplied AMRAAM missiles, but also MER racks and GBU-53 SDB Mini-JSOWs. Fit is excellent, and some important parts are actually separated along paint lines for ease in airbrushing (or hand painting). Decals are provided for two USAF options. There are also comprehensive data decals for weapons and stencils. I am having a great time building this kit! Meng has definitely brought the fun back to modelling. Highly recommended!
