Decent bundle
1 of 1 found this helpful Bought this as a second console in order to play games like HALO 5 and Star Trek Online that don't have local co-op. Seems to work well. Hard to compare improvements over Xbone S as they're in different rooms, and only the S is currently connected to a 4K display. The decision to go 1TB and leave out the 512GB option was probably a good one; bought the Xbone S as 512GB, and with all the HALO titles installed (and a couple of others, like STO and Neverwinter), it's nearing capacity. Wasn't terribly concerned as it supports external storage. Expecting that the increased performance of the X will help with games that support local co-op.

Nice addition
If you like Disney Infinity and Star Wars, you may like this as well. The figure is based on how the character appears in the Clone Wars years. It has a black base which is designed to block most (all?) of the light that normally appears at the base of a character figure when placed on the portal. For the Light FX version, the light appears to be directed up into the light saber blade. I say "appears", because... if you remove the figure from the portal quickly, you'll see that the glow continues briefly before dissipating. Not sure how they do that, but I found it interesting. Other Light FX figures appear to. behave the same way.

Decent item; seems more useful for customization than protection
This appears to work "as advertised", without interfering with the NFC features of the base. While it may take a bit more effort to get Power Discs off the base (i.e. you can't just slide 'em off to the side as without the protector), it's "not the end of the world", either. I don't use discs constantly, so I personally don't find it to be an issue.
Similar to another buyer, I purchased this mainly to be able to customize what the base looks like, as I have two side-by-side (one connected to an Xbox 360, another to an Xbone, and they're not interchangeable; thanks, Microsoft - NOT). I'm currently using one of the supplied designs on the Xbox 360 base, as it shows all DI 1.0 characters, and is the only platform I can use DI 1.0 on. I'm considering picking up a second protector to both protect the Xbone base, as well as customize the design (I do all my actual Toy Box editing on DI 3.0 for the Xbone only).
While it might protect the top surface of the base from scratches, spills, etc., it doesn't protect the Power Disc areas - which is understandable, as placing anything there that (significantly) increases the distance between the disc and the base might interfere with the base. For those terribly concerned with spills, other than "be a bit more careful, eh?", perhaps cover the base in a thin sheet of plastic wrap.
