One of the best books I've ever read
I am a reader. It's one of the pastimes I enjoy most. This book, in part because it tells the story of Stuart's life from adulthood back to his childhood, lets the reader slowly absorb the events in Stuart's life that led him to homelessness. Alexander Masters is a fantastic author, in my opinion. He writes with a dry wit that I just love; and tells the more tragic parts of Stuart's life with unemotional clarity. I had just finished "A Life Discarded", and enjoyed Masters' way with words so much I just had to read "Stuart". So now, I must read "The Genius in My Basement", which was also written by Masters.
