Camry is best built car (check Consumer Reports)

Though once a foreign car, the Toyota Camry (and pretty much all Toyotas) is about as American a car as can be purchased today. I was brought up a Chrysler fan, but when I became a mechanic I was shown the difference in craftsmanship between the cars my dad drove and the cars this Japanese automaker produced. Come to find out that most "American" cars are made in Mexico. So much for patriotism being my motivation for buying a car. Ethnocentricity (very similar to racism) is not really the greatest motivation for buying a piece of machinery anyway. Camrys are not the prettiest cars, but their reliability and design are second to none. I have a Corolla and I bought a 2000 Camry for my wife, as it is a bit larger, quieter, and better looking (my wife only shares the last two adjectives with the car). Other than the costs I knew about going into buying both of my Toyotas, I have had almost zero problems. Regular maintenance is just about all that is needed. That gives my pocketbook some breathing room. I am thoroughly satisfied with my Camry.
