Good case for the price
For the price, this is a pretty good hot-swap case. Be careful plugging in the power connectors though, as those 4-pin molex connectors are hard to insert, and the hot swap backplanes have thin molex sockets (I broke the molex socket housing on one board, but was still able to carefully insert the power cable.) I recommend getting some right-angle molex adapter cables (9" is a good length to get them through below the fans.)
The main fans are all nicely hot-swappable as well and slide in and out pretty easily, though the power connector for those fans is a bit difficult to plug in given it is sandwiched between the end of the fan rails and the edge of the case.
The hot-swap bays are fairly decent. Most of the time they lock in easily, but occasionally need a little bit of a jiggle to get the SATA connector aligned so you can slide it in all the way and lock it in place. HDD present/activity light pipes down the side of the drive tray work well and are plenty bright (blue LED for drive inserted and a separate green LED for drive activity.)
Be careful not to grab the unit above the handle on the front as it is easy to accidentally press the reset button. (You can of course just choose not to connect the reset line to your motheboard.) Also, the front has what appears to be two LAN LEDs, but it is only a single 2-wire cable, that is (I think) forward/reverse polarity for the two LEDs, which my motherboard doesn't support, so I only get one useable LED.

Great for linux server
Works great with linux (there are good commandline tools available to work with these cards.) I had to erase the BIOS (not the firmware) to get these to work in all PCIe slots on my particular motherboard. I am running 16 disks off of a pair of these cards (some in RAID5 under linux, some ZFS.) No problems recognizing drives that were formatted before in other systems (IE. HBA IT-mode does not write any data to the disk itself or hide any sectors unlike some other cards I have tried.)
