AT&T DIRECTV C61W WIRELESS GENIE MINI CLIENT KIT REQUIRS WIRELESS BRIDGE NEW #V7

Will not be activated by DirecTV

I was able to set these 2 Wireless Genie mini's up using a DirecTV wireless video bridge. They replaced Genie minis that were previously hooked up via coax cable.....just didn't have access to attach the coax hookup any longer, due to furniture placement. Online instructions from AT&T/DirecTV website made the installation very easy. They worked fine even without being activated. However, if you are not just using these to replace old one's, you will have a problem. When I called and deactivated my old coaxed Genie's to activate my wireless one's, they absolutely would NOT activate these wireless ones, because they had not been purchased from DirecTV, even though I have been a customer since 2012. That left me with the inability to watch TV at all until I deleted the 2 extra TV's showing on my account. After talking them into reactivating my coaxed ones, which apparently had to come from very high up the food chain, my account once again showed I had the 2 extra TV's, and I am able to watch TV with my wireless Genie minis. They are not activated, so I hope they continue to work this way.
