    Kraftwerk meets Diva!
This still sounds fresh today, although Ms Martin has moved onto various solo/collab projects since the band split after, sadly, only one album. Sometimes the vocals are a little high in the mix, but there are great tunes here, including the 4 singles ("Talking With Myself" comes in 2 versions plus bonus). Smooth and yet quirky, Electribe's arrangements still work. There are 2 editions of this CDA, the 1998 version actually features "Fever" Larry Heard mix version plus 2 '98 remixes (by Canny and The Beloved) of "Talking" as bonus tracks. However the better version (in my view, anyway) is the 1990 release which includes the Heard mix (actually a fadeout of the remix 12" "After Dark" mix) plus the excellent 'Def' remix of "You're Walking" in it's 8 minute glory, and the Frankie Knuckles retweak of "Talking". Best check with your seller which one you're getting, as the auto-list tends to go for the 1990 tracklisting, but lists as the 1998 release! Confused?.... Both CDs also feature the 12 b-side "Electribal Memories" as a bonus, which sits well as a closer to the album 'proper'.

Planet Mu release of another MBM eclectic classic!
The Metropolis US release sprawls slightly across 14 tracks, but most of the highlights plus 3 exclusives, are released inthe UK by Mike Paradinas' label. The usual eclectic mix of rap samples, Jack's occasional vocals (these days) and dark dub-trip abound as usual. Perhaps more sparse and less melodic than previous "Off Centre" long-player, this will not disappoint the faithful. There is noone else out there like Mr Dangers, with his expert handling of basslines, sinister bleeps, percussive loops etc - and the collaboration with Lynn Farmer on live drums works a treat. Only slight downside is the best vocal track on the US release "Young Cassius" with it's catchy chorus repeat, has been dropped, but overall this version is probably better for the UK market. There is also a 12" including quite dramatically different remixes of "Lonely Soldier" and "Guns n Lovers" in the UK, which is worth hunting down.

Interesting variant of this very strong club DOA album.
There are many different versions of this album. This includes 2 of the French remixes of You Spin Me Round and exclusive edits of Unhappy Birthday and Spend The Night Together. Also features the extended NRG remix of International Thing, as opposed to the album mix.
