The Band-of-Gypsies-era Hendrix fans should seek out this definitive set of the 4 Fillmore East shows of New years Eve/Day of 1969-1970. Unlike the vinyl release, this box set presents the shows in their entirety and the sound quailty is pristine. Well worth the price !

YES Found It Interesting

My sole purpose for purchasing this movie was that the novel was the inspiration for the album "Close To The Edge" by the progressive rock band YES. Ever since it's release in 1973, I could never really figure out what the suite "Close To The Edge" was about so I figured the movie would help clarify. And that it did. The story centers on the quest for heightened spiritual enlightenment by the main character Siddhartha and his travels in order to achieve his goal. Produced in 1972, the film does not really conform to standard American filmmaking standards and may require repeated viewings. However, viewed in the light of a seventies film taking place in India, it's a very enjoyable story. Recommended for Yes fans and viewers seeking a departure from standard-type films.
