Disappointment.
Pretty intriguing during the set-up. Then shifts to a plot only tangentially related and not very interesting with annoying style elements.

Blood and Guile
William Hoffman does a wonderful job of fleshing out his characters and placing them in an intriguing plot, holding one's interest from start to finish. He is a keen observer of human nature and has a wonderful command of the language. There is usually at least one sentence per page that makes the reader think 'wow he nailed that image'. I've read 5 or 6 of Hoffman's novels and one short story collection and there's nothing that's not 1st rate.

Almost useless
This is merely a list of expressions, catagorized. I guess I was expecting pithy stories of origin.
