hiker friend in the applachians
2 of 2 found this helpful We bought this for a friend who would be hiking alone on the Appalachian trail. He started in Georgia hiking
and is going for 45 days north to Tennessee. He sends us messages at each check point. It gives us some peace knowing he is ok. The location of where he starts the day or week is put in a message to our email so we can open on google maps and sometimes a picture of the shelter on the trail is available. I know there is a newer version but this has helped tracking his journey.
