They don't make bulletproof phone cases anymore
I think the phone manufacturer and the phone case makers have decided it is their best financial interest to make phones and cases that wear out and/break in two years or less to force people to buy new phones/cases more frequently.
Not so different from home appliances that need to be replaced in 10-12 years. Plastic gears on a washer and a "life proof" phone case that will break apart when dropped.

Using this case for Pixel XL with a two piece soft/hard case
Works great. There's the smallest amount of extra length but since you can also put credit cards and folded cash in the case it is perfect.
I am a woman tired of carrying purses that inevitably end up full of gunk.
No room for spare change. Leave in the car or the tip box.
