Recommend only if you are using low line capacity reels and you don't change your line that often.
Purchased before fishing trip to Florida to aid in changing lines in my reels. Works great on any spinning reel with low line capacity. When I tried it with my saltwater reels with higher line capacity, I had issues. I found I had to cut and dispose of line off the line changer two or more times before my reel spools were empty. Also, if you load too much line on the line changer spool, it seems to bind the collar that you push to release the little orange arms that were out catching the line. Several times I had to pull some of the line off before I could work the collar and then release the line.
I did use it on about 10 spools off of spinning reels and the batteries were still taking line off,, just at a slower rate.
You push up on the collar to release the line off of the spool changer. After a few uses mine got harder and push up and down. I hope this isn't an issue in the future.
Would be a better value at half the price. I like the design and wish it were a plug in type device. Not sure I would purchase again. Don't think it is intended for heavy duty use.
