Problems with the product

The product was not completely functional and did not match the picture. One of the things I wanted to use this radio for was to have something I could grab when I went to the basement in case of a tornado watch or warning. I looked for a radio that had three things. A handle, AM function, and a telescoping antenna. On eBay this radio was advertised as having an AM function and the picture showed a handle and a telescoping antenna. The AM function does not work and there is no telescoping antenna.

The Good and the Bad of the Celestron NexStar 8SE

This is a quality instrument however the computer display is difficult to use. It is easy to hit the wrong key, particularly hitting the Enter key when you try for the up-movement key which makes Star Align difficult. This key should be moved above the display to prevent this. There should be a bubble level on the mount to make leveling easier. During some operations the screen is partly unreadable. When entering information into the computer like latitude and longitude the first digit should not be unreadable so you can easily double check your settings. The sighting device should be one that is angled so you don't need to get down on the ground to sight something in. I realize that this means it needs to be a telescope rather than the light that is used.
