Keep Looking
Really doesn't fit well on my 629. Back strap ends up recessed, possibly enough to pinch under 44 mag recoil. Finger grooves don't really fit my hand. (Large glove size) Would not recommend.

Would not buy another
It's pretty and well made, but for me the execution is lacking. The leather handle is covered with a varnish-like finish. It's hard and slippery. I think the head is small and out of proportion for the shank, which is too long. I prefer the Vietnam style hawks; this just doesn't do anything for me. The cheaper model with the elastomer shock absorbing grip would be preferable. Finally, the sheath is useless. The hawk comes out from the bottom so if it's on your belt, you need to grip the shank; the handle's out of reach. There's a snap under the pointed end that needs to be opened, then the point pulled down and forward (it catches on the snap) so the axe end clears. It's not fast, and replacing it is worse. There are also two snap straps which have tight snaps right on the end with no pull tabs. I ordered an aftermarket sheath that top loads. If I'd looked at one in a store first, I would not have bought it.

Easy conversion of old mannikin
Used it to convert a non-rate monitor mannikin. Works well, easy to install. Pry off the "diaper" and slide in the monitor. You need to tilt it slightly or it might hang up on a projection at the bottom of the opening. Once it's in, snap the new diaper in place and it's done.
