Wilson Combat Short Reach Steel Trigger for Beretta 92 / 96 - 635
    Jul 07, 2019
    Looks Can Be Deceiving!
I ordered this based on reviews without ever seeing or feeling it. When it arrived, I compared it to my standard-reach metal trigger (I had previously replaced the poly coated one). In aligning the holes and inspecting it, it did not seem so different, until I realized that it sat ever so slightly back and that the bulk of the difference in reach, was actually created by altering the thickness of the trigger and the profile of its face. Before installation I was a bit doubtful of whether there would be any discernible difference, but since I had the old part out anyway, I thought I might as well try it. When I installed it (very easy to do btw), I greased the sides of the trigger so that it would slide into the frame easier as it is a little wider than the stock part. Installed, it reduces the pull by about 1/8" which sounds minor but is not! This trigger makes a big difference and greatly improves my purchase on the trigger during double action, which translates to a better position during single action as well - it actually makes the trigger feel slightly smoother and lighter too (probably because of improved ergonomics). Definitely a recommended part from Wilson Combat!

Hohner HH01 Harmonica Holder - Standard
    Oct 17, 2017
    Good but requires work/parts
This is a sturdy and generally well built item, but it does have some failings. 1) The lock washers are absolutely worthless and need to be replaced with good ones so add ($0.40), not bad. 2) Rack places harmonica at nose level, flip neck support over and bend product to fit your frame (I straighten the bent part of the wire for extra length). Make the neck loop as thin and long as possible so that it sits farther down your chest, this will reduce the harp height. It may also be necessary to bend the thick metal arms as well in order to reduce the height, this is more difficult, but doable - do this by increasing each curve on the vertical portion being careful not to bend other parts out of wack. Having a lot less neck than the giraffe this was built for, I found that flaring the bottom outward, where the product sits on my chest, not only reduced the height further, but added to the stability. I don't have a long neck, but it isn't short either. This product is built much too tall and is quite a bit taller than the German version - do Chinese harp players have disproportionately long necks? Would have given this less stars but didn't want to discourage buyers too much. If you do the work and replace the washers, this is a very good and quality item built to last, not thin, not flimsy and much easier to modify than the German model. 1 star out of the box/bag due to fit, 5 stars after a small investment and some elbow grease.

Martin M630 Modified True Nylon Baritone Ukulele Strings
    Dec 08, 2015
Durable Wound Strings with a Pleasant Sound
For me, finding Baritone Ukulele strings that sounded nice and had durable wound strings took some time (as I tried a number of different options - both high and low cost). I am no professional and wanted strings that didn't cost a fortune to replace, but that could stand up to hard (and mild) daily use for hours at a time (for both picking and strumming while staying in-tune - once broken in). Although I know these are not premium strings, I have found that I prefer the playability, sound and durability of the m630 on my Vintage Airline Bari. For some, the only gripe might be in appearances as all four strings look slightly different from each other. The E string is crystal clear, the B string is slightly opaque, the G string is dark and the D string is light - on the up side, identifying the strings by appearance alone is very easy! While I prefer a more uniform appearance, I have found that (for me) form follows function in terms of appearance and sound quality (I can compromise on looks for the performance I want to achieve). I have not tried the soprano version of these yet and cannot speak to their comparative performance. Different instruments and players have different preferences and I have found these to work well for me on my Baritone - they may or may not be right for you! One of the primary factors for me was the durability of the wound strings without sacrificing too much on sound quality. In summary, the m630's offer both excellent tone and durability.
