Efficient, entry-level NVidia GTX 900-series graphics
In its MSI incarnation, this card is one of the most inexpensive, energy efficient (about 90 watts), well-cooled high-end graphic cards available. It was purchased for an Alienware graphics amplifier connected to an Alienware X51 R3 i7 6700. It runs "Secret World" on ultra settings between 60-90 fps through the NVidia Experience optimization platform. Skyrim & Arch Age are solid at 60 fps on a non-HD display. Its form-factor is larger than many similar cards, so if your space is tight you may want to look at the ITX models. The specs show that it's basically a stripped-down GTX 960, which would cost about $50 more & take more power. A GTX 970 would be about double the price of this card but would do much more including basic VR. The cooling is very good, and quiet. Installation needed the NVidia app. I haven't overclocked it, although the MSi app makes that pretty easy to do. No backplate, and only basic lighting effects. 6-pin power connection.
