Like Christmas with each oyster opened
I love these oysters with pearls. It truly is exciting to see what you will find when they are opened. Quite addicting.

Excellent
2 of 2 found this helpful I’ve had an excellent germination rate with these lotus. Very few ‘duds’ in the bunch. All are thriving and are already in their outside homes. Found the easiest way to break the outer shell is with heavy duty toe nail clippers. Saves having to use knives and sandpaper. Also makes very quick work compared to other methods I’ve tried. With the clippers I can get all seeds ready in no time. I put the prepared seeds in small jars (change their water daily) in an empty 5 gal. aquarium which is in front of a garden window for temp. control and also supplement the indirect natural light with the LED aquarium lights. They have great root systems this way. From the small jars they go into recycled flower vases to an outside, partly shaded area. After acclimation for a few weeks, the are ready for the full sun container but I did lean a piece of lattice against the pond to prevent leaf burn. They are still two to a jar, using a clay water lily material to hold the seeds down. Added one water lily fertilizer tab dissolved to the small barrel. Figure it will be next year before I get blooms but they are on the right track. Very pleased and most likely will order more since I have a system for success down now. Thanks.
