Wonderful features if they work.

I purchased the unit for a christmas gift for my grandson because of the features only found on this particular player. Another reason was the claim of factory refurbishment to new by the manufacterer. When I receieved the unit, it didn't work initially even after reading the vague user manual. It continued to play for 30 seconds then shut down until it was unplugged and allowed to remain that way for at least 30 seconds. Once it was plugged in again it would start up. this went on for about 12 times then it was ok. I noticed the low battery light was not on so I removed the power adapter and tried the 3 hour lithium battery mode. It did'nt work. Accordindind to the manual all I needed to do was plugged it in to an external power supply( house plug) and the battery would begin to charge. 7 days later(constant) the red low battery light never came on and the unit will still not work unless connected to an external power supply. It's now 4 days before Christmas and I have to scurry for another gift to put under the tree while the unit is shipped off to an RCA service center, if the 90 warranty is good.
