Shaka Zulu: 3-Pack Gift Set (2000,DVD)

We like to have things in our video library that bring to life things that have actually happened. We enjoy history and altho we know that hollywood adds a bit (sometimes good, sometimes not so good) to the movies to make them 'watching worthy', we enjoy seeing them come to life. We saw this particular movie on t.v. some years ago and immediately wanted it for our library. Only on e-bay have we been able to find this one as well as others we have been searching for.

Dead Man's Walk (2001,DVD)

I bought this movie, because it seemed to be the predecessor of 'Lonesome Dove'. We love the 'Lonesome Dove' series and usually try to purchase movies that involve the adventures of Agustus McCrae and Woodrow Call. This movie wasn't as good as I had hoped, but I'm sure it has a lot to do with being spoiled by the great actors in the 'Lonesome Dove' series . It seems to drag out a bit and is a little 'hokey' at times. However,it does give you a preview of how Agustus and Woodrow became Texas Rangers. I will keep in my library for that reason alone.

An Officer and a Gentleman

Richard Gere is one of my favorite actors and after seeing this movie, I wanted it for my library. Shows how a person can change from bad to good and how love blossoms and has a beautiful ending. Highly recommend it.
