works great, after bios update perfect for casual computing

I like cheap it is because I'm on a budget. I also like the fact that it is micro ATX because I needed a small motherboard to fit in my Rosewill FBM-01 Micro ATX Mini Tower case. I also like the fact that it can play YouTube videos and word documents. the only thing that I don't like about the MSI E33-V2 A68hm motherboard is that the motherboard would sometimes restart randomly. but after the bios update it seemed to fix the problem

great product

works great it is perfect for school, it boots up fast, and it has the start menu back. the only down side is that they've changed up the start menu so that the start menu has apps instead of programs, and the interface is designed more for phones instead of computers of which I installed it on, but it still works OK for computers, just not as well

Awesome product for it's age and price

I love this Dell Latitude D400. I bought it for a backup laptop just in case something happens to my newer hp Compaq 6530b notebook. I primarily use the Dell latitude d400 for simple task such as word processing, going on the internet, and occasionally watching a dvd on an external dvd-rw drive. I got an external dvd-rw drive because this particular model didn't come with an internal cd drive. now keep in mind that this laptop came out in 2003 which was almost twelve years ago so don't expect it to be able to handle newer applications. The dell latitude d400 can only handle up to windows xp, it can not handle windows 7 or windows vista. It definitely couldn't handle windows 8. The laptop I got needed to a new wireless card which I just so happened to have in my spare parts box. It does significantly better than other models from its era and price. again comparing it to the other makes and models from the years 1999-2003. compared to todays standards it's terrible.
