The plates that hold the buttons do not ...

The plates that hold the buttons do not fit on a Harley lid. I've attached the top two and the velcro and so far it is staying up. If I want the other two button brackets to work I'll have to cut or try to bend the metal brackets or get longer bolts and spacers.
