It Works!!
2 of 2 found this helpful A lot of people on Talkbass think, based on apperarances, this is an overpriced washer, or beer can ring tab. I was hesitant to order it. It has truly changed the character of my American Standard Jazz V bass. The "B" string was just not solid on it. E through G were fine but when I hit the B, particularly from open to about 6 or 7th fret it was just 'blaaah". And I tried a lot of different string sets and combinations with it.
This simple little retainer effectively tightened up the string to where it is genuinely useful. I still don't love the B as much as the E,A, and D strings (I hate Gs, even on guitars (?)), but the B is musical and resonant now...
Cheap fix if you ask me. Burns my butt that Fender doesn't include them on $1200 plus basses!!

Gorgeous, well made pickguard!
Beautiful OEM quality (or better) pickguard. Solid, substantial, perfectly cut to fit. All the holes line up.
