As a retirement project, I run a kids' "Micronaut" program for several non-profits (Children's Museum of Discovery, Lagoon Scientist, Maker's Faire, various schools) in our county and use eBay to source microscopes, specimens, and other science and fix-up gear for the program.

All plastic gear rack and dovetail
The rack and pinion on mine would slip right out of the box. Even if those had been in tolerance, pretty cheap. Can't complain about the price (just over $15), but it really was still pretty much a waste of money.

Decent small swabs
Seem OK for the price. Small size, useful to get in corners of microscope lenses.
