Apple iPod Nano 3rd Generation 8GB - Black - Works Great
Oct 10, 2023
Why iPod Nano still work for me.
It's obsolete technology, but it still works. My car was made with its infotainment system to work with this generation of iPod devices. There is no means to use physical media like CDs or even USB sticks. There is a jack for the special cable that plugs into the iPod and there is Bluetooth capability. The Bluetooth works fine, but I'd prefer having it charge up while I listen to music as I drive. This is where the iPod Nano comes in. I essentially use them as 8 GB music storage devices. I put my music mixes on each iPod Nano and currently, I have over 32 GB of music at my fingertips that work pretty well with my car. I can also take them out and use ear buds if I want, and save my phone for other things. At around $25 a pop, it's not a big deal if I lose one or if it dies.
Corsair K68 RGB (CH9102010NA) Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Nov 06, 2023
A solid, if not underappreciated, gaming keyboard offering from Corsair
If you eat or drink around your keyboard and have a tendency of spilling things, this might be the keyboard for you. It is designed to be water resistant, not water proof. There are videos of people pouring gallons of water, even spraying a garden hose into their Corsair K68 keyboards. It's no trick or gimmick. There is a rubber or silicon membrane beneath the keyboard cover plate that run up to just beneath each keycap. This prevents liquids from entering the sensitive areas of the keyboard - main circuit board and switches. However, if you remove any of the keycaps or turn the board upside down after spraying it, liquid may get in. The membrane generally does a very good job in keeping liquids out, however, it also affects the typing experience. If you like the feel of Cherry MX red switches, this keyboard has you covered, but the membrane does mute the sound of the keycaps striking home and rebounding. It also might produce a slight mushy typing feel since it is directly beneath each and every keycap. Some people won't notice it, but if you have a Corsair K70 for comparison, you will notice the difference right away. I think only typing purists will shy away from this keyboard. Most of its features are geared towards gamers anyway. My only real complaint is that it was never offered with other Cherry MX switches, as I prefer brown switches over the lighter actuating reds.
Kingston FURY Renegade 2TB M.2 NVMe Internal SSD (SFYRS/2000G)

Kingston FURY Renegade - A Blazingly Fast SSD for a Reasonable Price
This is currently one of the fastest Gen 4, M.2 NVMe SSDs on the market and one that is reasonably priced. Early in November of 2023, these drivers were going for around $130 for 2 TB,. While Kingston is a well known name for mainstream RAM modules and a few gamers / performance kits, they aren't all that well known or new to the solid state drive market. However, while most of them were solid, middle of the road performers, the FURY Renegade is truly a performance monster. With Read / Write speeds up to 7300 / 7000 MB/sec and 1,000,000 IOPS, you can certainly do a lot worse for significantly more money. Very few drives from other manufacturers can put up such numbers, let alone for under $150. My only concern is with such performance comes heat and with heat come throttling. This drive does not come with a heat spreader, just the metallic label / shield that offers little in heat dissipation. If your mainboard does not have dedicate heat spreaders, you may have to spring for aftermarket ones which can run anywhere from a few bucks for a simple cooling pad and aluminum finned sandwich design to really in-depth contraptions of Rube Goldberg-esque origins costing more than $30.
